Sunset Home Quincy, IL 0 Review

She showed me different-sized rooms and introduced me to a couple of residents. She was very helpful, polite, and very pleasant. The apartments were a nice size and they have big windows, so they were nice and bright.

Admissions and Social Services have no compassion or professional passion for caring for residents or their families. They have no empathy for families new to caring for loved ones and offer no referrals for assistance or support. A few employees are dedicated and nurturing but the majority treat resident care as a burden. I highly suggest doing your research and tour this facility without notice to truly see the day-to-day lack of care. Being able to chat with other residents becomes an important part of many peoples' lives and Sunset Home offers common spaces indoors to support that need.

I cannot comment about any area other than The Haven, and it is anything but a haven. The staff lacks empathy for the residents or their families and there seems to be a shortage of patience as well. Residents that are immobile are left with little interaction and residents that are mobile are considered a nuisance and are directed to sit around.. Although a few staff members are caring and nurturing, most have no regard for residents comfort or state-of-mind. We have found local resources that can help you evaluate Sunset Home. Close proximity to hospitals and places of worship can be helpful in evaluating a provider.

Sunset did a wonderful job in her rehab and caring for her, that she was well enough to come home. Rachel at the front desk is wonderful and very caring. They never hesitated to call me if there was any type of problem. I was very happy with the care my mom received. Sunset Home is a nursing homes facility located in Quincy, IL. Most active retirement communities allow their residents to have pets for the fact that they can take care of them by themselves.

It seems as though the new management has ran the home into the ground along with it''s ratings. They keep the place extremely under-staffed and over work the only staff they have remaining. The residents receive poor patient care, and their families should relocate them to other homes that genuinely care about how their residents are taken care of. Residents have overwhelmingly large bed sores and poor hygiene care from neglect, and the state should be notified. This is extremely illegal and most definitely neglect. They also hire staff that have been fired from other nursing homes for abuse.

Reviews for Sunset Home

Those that are mobile are told to sit with little activity provided, unless you count endlessly folding towels. Staff is constantly changing, especially the Unit Coordinator. Clothes are lost and never found, incident reports aren't completed and families aren't notified of care plan meetings. Superiors have no interest in getting involved to correct issues.
